Bernie Madoff passed away on 14th April 2021. For those of you too young to remember what he did, I shared a few articles HERE.
His notorious Ponzi scheme ruined many, from ordinary folks to celebrities. One of his sons was driven to suicide, as were a British veteran and a financier who lost his clients' monies.
While a surprisingly large amount of money (nearly 70%) was reclaimed by the Trustee overseeing Madoff's company, this opened new wounds for early investors who cashed out. Many of them had spent "profits" that they believed belong to them, but were fake.
It is safe to say that his passing will be mourned by few.
