Avid Nintendo watchers and fans of their games will know of the flurry of rumours swirling around, that 16th Jan Thursday, will be the date Nintendo announces the Switch successor.
This is all speculation at the moment and there were definitely no shortage of rumours before this. This time round, reputable games industry publications and games journalists have suggested that this week is the week and Thursday is the day.
in case it wasn't obvious from my tease in Notepad last week, I've heard it should be the Switch 2 reveal this week 👍

A lot of details are still unknown of course, such as what will be revealed (is it just Hardware or games as well), what the next console will be called (Switch 2? Switch U? Switcheroo?). Even the date is unclear. 16th Jan where? Japan time? Eastern Standard Time?
I think what is more interesting is what Nintendo's strategy is. There were many alleged leaks of the next console before today and some people are wondering why Nintendo is waiting so long.
It is probably very hard to keep everything under wraps, given the number of people involved in the production of the console. Some may speculate that these leaks deliberate.
According to former Nintendo employees Kit and Krysta, Nintendo is very keen to keep these sort of information under wraps and this is very unlikely to be a deliberate strategy
At this point, as a shareholder, I am really curious what their plan for launching the next console is. I guess we will find out soon (I hope).
